Pilot area
LIFE RIPARIAS tests its innovative approach in the Dijle, Mark and Zenne river basins of the Scheldt river basin district, a pilot area covering 263.103.000 ha across the three regions of Belgium (Brussels, Walloon, and Flemish regions). The project targets specific problematic aquatic and riparian invasive plants and crayfish species.
Throughout the project, special attention will be paid to riparian Natura 2000 habitats as those special areas of conservation value are found within the project area.
